Yannuzzi, MD, Recognizing Directors Emeriti.
The Lighthouse Guild LightYears Gala salutes individuals and organizations whose vision and philanthropic spirit transform lives. The organization has a long-standing heritage of addressing the needs of people who are blind or visually impaired including those with multiple disabilities or chronic medical conditions. Their innovative and comprehensive approach helps people achieve and maintain the highest possible level of function and independence.
Certainly, it is clear why the Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs have been chosen for recognition. These organizations, at their core, are driven to provide assistance to those who need it most and make an important difference in our society every single day.
Guide Dog Foundation’s mission is to “improve the quality of life for people who are blind, have low vision, or have other special needs.” For 70 years now, the foundation has trained and placed guide and service dogs to individuals who need them free of charge.
