Karen A. Wish joined Lighthouse Guild in February 2016 as Chief Marketing Officer. In October 2016, she assumed the additional responsibility of Chief Development Officer. She came to Lighthouse Guild after 15-years at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital where she led Marketing efforts for the two children’s hospitals, one of the community hospitals, multiple service lines and enterprise-wide market research.
Ms. Wish is integrating the marketing and development capabilities to position Lighthouse Guild as the nation’s leading service organization for people who are visually impaired. She is a strategic thought partner to the CEO and COO in developing new programs and partnerships that will maximize the Lighthouse Guild’s reach and impact to support people with vision loss. Ms. Wish’s functional marketing responsibilities include: marketing strategy, branding, volume growth, public relations, social media, web, mobile and digital, internal communication and community relations. The functional development responsibilities include generating revenue in the areas of planned gifts, foundations, corporate sponsorships, online giving and special events.
Ms. Wish began her career as an account manager for NCR Corporation and then served in a variety of product management roles at Schering-Plough (now Bayer Consumer). She received her BS in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University and her MBA from Columbia Business School.
