Vice President Behavioral Health Services,
Dr. Goldie Dersh
People who are blind or visually impaired and have mental illness face many challenges. We understand. If a family member or someone whom you care for is affected by vision impairment and mental illness, let us help.
We help clients overcome challenges in a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment. Licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, our daily program is designated as a Comprehensive Outpatient Program Service (COPS), and is open to adults 18 and older. Our goal is to help clients remain in their communities, enter into vocational/rehabilitation programs, and avoid psychiatric hospitalization.
Lighthouse Guild’s interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, social workers, case managers and creative arts therapists provides an array of services, including:
- Case management
- Group therapy
- Crisis intervention
- Medical coordination and liaison
- Skill-building to manage psychiatric symptoms
