Dr. Amelia Quist-Ogunlesi is a philanthropist and businesswoman. She is also a trained optometrist. Educated in London, she practiced optometry there before moving to New York 23 years ago. She received the necessary credentials to practice in the United States from the SUNY College of Optometry. While studying at SUNY, she participated in an externship/residency program at Lighthouse Guild, which gave her firsthand knowledge of its programs and low vision practice.
Dr. Quist-Ogunlesi lives in New York with her husband, Adebayo O. Ogunlesi, and their two sons. Mr. Ogunlesi is a founder, Chairman and Managing Partner at Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), an independent fund that invests in infrastructure assets worldwide. Dr. Ogunlesi is a trustee of the Studio Museum in Harlem and the New York City Parents in Action.
