Mark G. Ackermann is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Lighthouse Guild. He served for five years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lighthouse International prior to its merger with Jewish Guild Healthcare.
Prior to joining Lighthouse International, Mr. Ackermann served for 25 years in various senior management positions at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center, and held the position of Chief Administrative Officer of the hospital’s parent corporation, Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers. After this, he served as the Special Assistant to the Cardinal of New York and had responsibility for the 2008 and 2015 Papal visits to New York.
Mr. Ackermann holds a B.A. from the Catholic University of America and a Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Management from New York University. He has served as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Management and Urban Professions of the New School University, as well as a Clinical Instructor in the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of New York University, New York.
He currently serves as Chair of the Age Related Macular Degeneration Alliance International and as Chair of The VisionServe Alliance. He also serves on the Boards of Directors of The Usher III Initiative, the Path to Peace Foundation and the board of ambassadors of the Same Sky Foundation.
