Susan Mendik was born and raised in Lawrence, New York, and has been a New York City resident since the late 1970s. She holds a BA in business administration from Adelphi University. From 1968 until retiring in 2005, she worked as a Certified Public Accountant at the accounting firm of Friedman LLP.
Ms. Mendik is a trustee of both the New York Law School and Lighthouse Guild and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Grand Central Partnership. She also sits on the Advisory Board for the NYU Cochlear Implant Center.
She continues to follow the philanthropic legacy begun by her late husband, Bernard H. Mendik. Among her many personal interests, she enjoys golfing, skiing, playing bridge and reading.
