Charles F. Blum joined Lighthouse Guild in October, 2013, and is responsible for coordinating the legal activities of the organization and its affiliates. These include general corporate work such as drafting and negotiating contracts; helping to plan and negotiate new ventures; preparing and submitting government applications and tax filings; and counseling staff on a wide array of topics.
Prior to joining Lighthouse Guild, Mr. Blum spent 29 years at Visiting Nurse Service of New York, the nation’s largest not-for-profit home health care company, the last seven of which he served as Senior Vice President of Legal and Government Affairs overseeing all government relations and legal activities of that company.
Mr. Blum served for many years on the board of the Home Care Association of New York State, and was the chairman of its board from 2007 to 2009. He has lectured on health care topics at Pace University Law School and at various trade association meetings. He received his BA at Northwestern University, and his JD at the National Law Center of George Washington University.
