Elliot J. Hagler joined Lighthouse Guild in 1994, and oversees all financial aspects of the organization and each of its subsidiaries and the Information Technology (IT) department. Mr. Hagler is responsible for negotiating and monitoring reimbursement from each of Lighthouse Guild’s multiple sources of revenue. He is involved in preparing the annual budget and monitoring each department’s compliance throughout the year and has been involved in negotiating collective bargaining agreements. He was instrumental in converting each of the defined benefit pension plans to defined contribution plans. Prior to coming to Lighthouse Guild, Mr. Hagler was a Senior Manager at Loeb & Troper for 11 years, where he was responsible for audits of health care, voluntary health and welfare agencies, and schools. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has lectured on IT implementation in not-for-profit organizations and how best to manage a not-for-profit’s portfolio. He is the coauthor of an article entitled “Assumptions Affecting Your Pension Plan that Should Be Confirmed Each Year”. Mr. Hagler received his BS in Economics from Brooklyn College.
