GuildCare, the Adult Day Health Care program of Lighthouse Guild, has moved to Century Hill Plaza in Latham. GuildCare is the only Adult Day Health Care program in New York State specializing in services for people with vision loss. Services available include nursing care, medication management, diabetes care, physical, occupational and speech therapy, social work services, nutritional counseling, vision rehabilitation, therapeutic activities, morning snack and lunch. Services and activities are specially designed and adapted for individuals with all levels of disability – physical, cognitive and visual. Individuals do not have to be legally blind to qualify for GuildCare programs.
Patricia Granados, director of GuildCare Network, said, “As a community-based program promoting wellness and independence for people with vision loss, it’s essential that we are located in an area that is convenient and a central location enabling us to better serve individuals from Albany, Schenectady and Rensselaer counties. Century Hill Plaza is in a highly accessible part of the Capital Region just off exit 7 of I-87 surrounded by many amenities. It is the perfect location for us.”
“We are pleased to have GuildCare join Century Hill Plaza,” says First Columbia’s partner, Deborah Mikhitarian-Russell. “Enriching people’s lives with the support and tools they need is so critical, and GuildCare is a great organization raising awareness for those with vision loss. It will be a wonderful addition to the strong mix of dynamic businesses and professional services located here at Century Hill Plaza.”
