Sight Savers America
Sight Savers America is a non-profit organization in Alabama that assists children in several states with obtaining eye exams, glasses, and other needed eye care from local eye care providers and clinics. Children who have failed a vision screening at school are referred to Sight Savers America by teachers, school administrators, school nurses, eye care professionals, and parents. Children of families who qualify for the program receive the eye care they need at no cost to the family. Sight Savers America works with the members of its extensive volunteer network of eye care providers to arrange for comprehensive eye care, including scheduling appointments and transportation, making arrangements for eyeglasses, medications, eye surgeries, vision aids, and any other prescribed treatment.
