Harriet and Robert Heilbrunn School
If you have a child who is blind or visually impaired and has other disabilities, a conventional classroom or other public school setting may not be able to meet their specific needs.
Licensed by the New York State Department of Education, our Harriet and Robert Heilbrunn School provides education and therapeutic services to children ages 5-21 in a safe, secure setting. We strive to help your child develop the skills to live as independently as possible, prepare for adulthood, and maximize his or her talents and abilities.
Who can attend the School?
Harriet and Robert Heilbrunn School students live in the five boroughs and throughout the New York Metropolitan area, and are referred by the New York City Board of Education’s Committees on Special Education (CSEs). To qualify, a student must be blind, visually impaired or deaf blind, and have additional disabilities. The New York City Board of Education provides transportation to and from the School.
