Director of Children’s Vision Programs,
Dr. Linda Gerra
When your child is diagnosed with a serious eye condition that can cause blindness or vision impairment, you may feel lost and alone, and unsure of what your child needs. No matter where you are in the country, there’s a community of caring, understanding parents who understand how you feel, because they’re going through the same thing.
Our National Support Network for Parents of Children with Visual Impairment can connect you with parents like you, so you can share resources, experiences, strength and hope. These free tele-support groups meet by phone every week, and you may join us whenever you wish. We welcome you, whether you want to actively participate or just listen. You’re not in this alone.
We currently have groups for parents of children with the following eye conditions:
- Cortical Visual Impairment
- Retinopathy of Prematurity
- Leber Congenital Amaurosis
- Autism and Blindness
- Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome (English and Spanish)
- CHARGE Syndrome
- Chediak-Higashi Syndrome
- Rare Eye Conditions
