Vision Rehabilitation helps people regain function and maximize their usable vision to develop skills and strategies to remain safe, independent and active at any stage of life, as well as adjust emotionally to the impact of vision loss.

In addition to vision care, Lighthouse Guild treats the whole person by providing a range of medical services. Our clients are able to receive their vision and medical care in one convenient location, and in a coordinated manner.

Academic Skills
If you are a legally blind high school student or adult, Lighthouse Guild’s Communication Skills Program can help you prepare you for success in college or a vocation.

Adaptive Technology Training
Lighthouse Guild training in adaptive computers and software can help you enter or stay in the job market or school, and we can teach you to use the most current technology. Our experts determine which devices will help you obtain your goals, and then train you how to use them.

Career Services
Lighthouse Guild can help you in your job search, and will work with you and your employer on any accommodations needed in the workplace.

Independent Living Skills
Through our Independent Living Skills program, rehabilitation teachers and mobility instructors can help you in your home and at our facilities in a variety of ways.

Low Vision Rehabilitation
You can still live well and remain productive with vision loss. With a low vision examination, in addition to checking vision, your doctor will discuss with you things that you have trouble doing because of your vision, and will work with you on new ways to perform these activities.

Orientation and Mobility
Losing your vision doesn’t mean losing your independence. Lighthouse Guild mobility instructors can help you learn to navigate familiar and unfamiliar places, indoors and out, and to travel with confidence.
